Wynns Childs Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Coonawarra 2012

Wynns reinvested in the Child's vineyard in 2009 - elevating the fruit there from its traditional supporting role in other premium releases (including John Riddoch and Black Label) to having a dedicated bottling of its own.

Wynns Single Vineyard Johnson's Block Cabernet, Coonawarra 2014

Planted in 1954, Johnsons Block is the oldest surviving Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard in Coonawarra. These heritage vines produce a distinctively fine and aromatic, dark fruited wine each year. On the palate, this wine is elegant and refined with an array of dark blood plums, cherry and blackcurrant, balanced with savoury cacao, gamey meats and smoky spice. Beautiful powdery tannin mixed with bright acidity hold balance between the elements, allowing fine length finished by some lingering creamy oak.

Planted in 1954 making this the oldest surviving cabernet sauvignon site in Coonawarra. A mere 60 years later, it makes its debut as a single vineyard wine bringing forth its unique elements that centre on savouriness. The excellent colour a given, so, too the fragrance of fruit, florals and flowers. But the palate is key - all poise with vitality and quite distinct tannins - more textured like raw silk. Wynns Messenger Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Coonawarra 2015

Wynns is privileged to have some of Coonawarra’s best quality and oldest vineyards. Each year, the Winemakers select just one parcel of wine to bottle separately. In 2015 the Messenger vineyard, in the southern section of the terra rossa strip, showed to distinction. The wine is an excellent follow-on to both the 2005 and 2010 vintages from this special and distinctive vineyard. Planted in 1975, Messenger Cabernet is a dry grown vineyard on deeper soils.
