Peter Lehmann "Mentor" 3 bottle vertical pack.

Peter Lehmann mentored countless people over his 50-year career, and this wine is named in his honour. Great Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon has layers of texture and flavour. By drawing fruit from a number of Barossa sub-regions each with their own unique terroir, Mentor Cabernet captures immense varietal definition with added complexity of old vine, low-yielding fruit matured in French oak barrels.

Mentor is made as the best expression of Barossa Cabernet of vintage, with the addition of small portions of complementary varieties in certain years.

2006- Full bodied and richly tannic, Lehmann's 2006 Mentor is dark, chocolaty and intense, with further nuances of cassis and cigar box. The finish is chewy and juicy, simultaneously drying and mouthwatering. Wine Enthusiast.

2010 - Deep garnet-purple in color the 2010 Mentor Cabernet Sauvignon has a pronounced nose of blackcurrant cordial, black cherries and dried mint with hints of cloves, fertile earth and pencil lead. Medium-bodied, it gives a good amount of juicy black fruit flavors in the mouth accented by mint and cloves suggestions and a medium level of grainy tannins. It finishes medium to long. Robert Parker

2012- It starts on the funky mushroomy side when first poured but with time in glass, more complex aromas come to the fore: violets, chocolate and ripe blackberries with a soy sauce savoriness. The palate is positively beastly, dripping in plush fruit and slightly clunky, toasty oak that overpowers much else. Still quite youthful, more time in the cellar will morph in something a bit more elegant. Wine Enthusiast

“Finishes its fermentation and is matured in French hogsheads for 18 months. The varietal expression is faultless, redolent of black fruits corralled by some bramble and savoury tannins on the finish. A very good vintage for cabernet – indeed all red wines – in the Barossa Valley if the alcohol is controlled. 96 points, Special Value” Halliday Wine Companion 2016
