Hewitson Private Cellar Shiraz Mourvèdre 2009 Magnum 1.5L
Established in 1998 Hewitson winery is situated in the heart of the Barossa Valley on the historic Seppeltsfield Road and boasts some of the oldest vines in the world. Our fruit is sourced from historic, dry-grown vineyards in the Barossa Valley and also from single site vineyards in Eden Valley, McLaren Vale and the Adelaide Hills.
At Hewitson, we believe great wines are an expression of the soils they are grown in and the season they grow. Through knowledge and experience we strive for balance, structure, concentration, power and breeding. Proudly, through solar energy, water recycling and encouraging natural biodiversity, Hewitson brings these wines to your table environmentally sustainable.
"Each vintage we select fruit of exceptional quality and offer you a limited release wine worthy of a Private Cellar status. It's a one off, made from fruit which we believe truly qualifies for elegant ageing, and a superb example of the best of what that particular vintage has offered us." Hewitson.
"Light, clear crimson; given the medium-bodied weight of the wine, the intensity and length of the wine is prodigious; unlike the '08, red fruits are the main theme, rather than black, on the aromatic bouquet and through the palate. Made from very old vines, and comes with a 20-year cellaring guarantee; French oak and fine tannins complete the story of its ultra-limited production." James Halliday 97 Points.
