Flaxman Shhh Eden Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

Colin and his wife Fiona established Flaxman Wines on an elevated parcel in the stunning Eden Valley, in 2004. Throwing caution to the wind, the decision was made to buy a vineyard, relocate interstate, changing career paths, and building a space to share in their passion for the beautiful region and the world-class wine & food it produces. 

Planted around 1929, the property consists of Riesling, Shiraz & Semillon, with additional fruit purchased from like-minded growers nearby to add to the line-up of wines available. Needless to say, quantities are extremely limited however quality is exceptional. Just 90 dozen 2012 Cabernet were produced.

Colin has a habit of making decisions without telling Fiona. He wanted to make a Cabernet, but Fiona disagreed. “Col made the wine anyway, and just wrote ‘shhh’ on the barrel, so I wouldn’t find out what it was until it was too late,” and as the story goes, the Flaxman Shhh Cabernet was born. 

“It’s easier to ask forgiveness than it is to ask for permission,” 

A real hidden gem in the Barossa Ranges, and now some of the treasured 2012 vintage is available, stock will not last.
