13Hundred Wines Clare Valley Shiraz 2022
All In The Name.
It all begins with an idea. Mates from the Barossa; Andy, Chad and Clayton share the same love and passion for wine. They have turned a hobby into something much more, producing small parcels of wine and having fun in the meantime.
Commencing in 2018, the idea for 13 Hundred Wines came as all good ideas do, after a ‘few’ beers at the local. Being a sucker for Roman numerals and with the combined initials MCCC resulting in 1300, Clayton’s wisdom created 13 Hundred Wines (So he says). With help from a local grower, the boys had their first vintage crushed, pressed and barrelled.
"Working with passionate growers across the Barossa Valley and other regions. The focus is to take traditional wine-making methods and make them their own, with the aim to craft easy-drinking wines. The wines are light, fresh and approachable.
We want to give our customers an experience like no other. Maintaining quality is number one but most of all, we want to expand people’s palates and give them wines to be remembered." 13Hundred Wines
The boys call this one "They got lucky Shiraz."
A softer-bodied red, packed with plenty of fruit. With hints of peppermint, this wine is divine. 100% destemmed to open top fermenters, Basked pressed, Wild Yeast, Wild Malo.
Alcohol%: 13.5, Barreled in neutral French Oak for 12 months. Vineyard: Located in Auburn, on clay-loam soils. A supurb Clare Valley Shiraz for the money, no doubt here why they call it "got lucky" on this one!
